VoiceKey is the voice command center for your Mac. It maps any key — or any macropad button — to a voice input channel. Press a key, speak, and VoiceKey routes your audio to the app you chose: dictation, or a live conversation with an AI agent. A tiny native Mac controller that orchestrates your existing voice tools.

A simple menu bar controller for all your voice channels. Map keys — on your keyboard or an external macropad — to each channel you use: dictation, OpenAI, ChatGPT, your OpenClaw agent, or any self-hosted endpoint. One key press each.

Set up in three steps

  1. Install

    Homebrew or the DMG. VoiceKey lives in your menu bar.

  2. Add a channel

    Pick a provider, press the key you want to give it. Paste an API key if the provider needs one — your OpenClaw agent needs nothing.

  3. Hold the key and talk

    Release to finish. Double-tap to keep the channel open.

Different minds. One way in.

Voice on the Mac is scattered. The dictation app has its shortcut, the assistant hides behind a click, your agent lives in a browser tab — and every one of them wants to be your whole voice stack. VoiceKey only cares about the entrance. Give each voice a key of its own — a fast assistant, a careful one, your agent, plain dictation — and press it when you have something to say. VoiceKey runs no backend and keeps nothing. Audio goes only to the provider of the profile you pressed.
